JYP preps boy band DAY6

JYP Entertainment, one of Korea’s biggest talent agencies, will soon launch a new all-male act named DAY6, according to various people from the music industry.

The six members of the new band, who are expected to make their debut Monday, held a live club concert in Hongdae, western Seoul, last Friday. They also staged another performance in the same area yesterday, hoping to gain experience before making their first official appearances to the public.

Even though the identities of the six members have not yet been revealed, most are expected to be trainees that appeared in the survival audition program “WIN” (2013), which was run by YG Entertainment.

DAY6 will be the first male act that JYP has released after its boy band GOT7 debuted last year.

Many are curious about the new act, which will be performing as a band rather than a traditional supergroup.
