Actress Moon mulls new role

Actress Moon Chae-won may return to the small screen through a new drama series called “Goodbye Mr. Black” (working title), according to Ilgan Sports on Friday.

Whether the 28-year-old’s return to the tube after two years is yet to be confirmed, as the opinions of people inside the drama industry differ.

While one affiliate said, “Moon will star in the new SBS drama and is currently finalizing the details,” another person claimed that “even though Moon’s participation is not yet decided, she enjoyed the script, so the final decision is up to her.”

If Moon agrees to take part in the upcoming drama, she will take on the lead character with a distinct personality.

Set in England, the drama, an adaptation of an old comic of the same name, the story revolves around a character who is stigmatized as a traitor by his best friend and ex-lover. The character is consequently forced to leave England and go to Australia.

The story, however, gets more interesting when the character runs away from Australia and returns to England to take revenge on those people who had turned against him.

The upcoming TV drama will be directed by Lee Chang-min of “Birth of a Beauty” (2014-15) and “My Lover, Madame Butterfly” (2012-13). The screenplay was penned by Moon Hee-jung, who wrote various hit dramas such as “Can You Hear My Heart” (2011) and “Missing You” (2012-13).
