Banks and securities firms plan to take Aug. 14 extra holiday
Most local banks and securities companies will close for the Aug. 14 holiday.Payments automatically withdrawn from accounts such as credit card charges and electricity bills will automatically be postponed to Aug. 17.
Still, customers should ask companies individually for their exact payment dates, companies say.
Payments on loans that fall on Aug. 14 will be automatically postponed to Aug. 17, so even if a borrower pays interests or principal on Aug. 17, no late payment fee will be charged.
