Rapper Sean to host charity concert

Rapper Sean from the hip-hop duo Jinusean will take part in a concert aimed at supporting people suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

“Seungil Hope Foundation with ALS, Give me Hope,” also called SWAG, is hosted by Sean, who is also working as a joint representative of the Sihope Foundation, which runs the event.

In addition to Sean, various other top Korean hip-hop musicians such as Tiger JK, Beenzino and Dok2 will also donate their talent to the concert. Popular comedian Kim Ki-ri has been selected to be the MC for the event.

All funds raised from the performance will be used to build a rehabilitation hospital for patients suffering from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

SWAG is scheduled to take place at Ax Hall in Gwangjin District, eastern Seoul, on Friday at 8 p.m.

Regarding the upcoming concert, Park Sung-ja from the Sihope Foundation said, “We’re very thankful to the hip-hop musicians for rearranging their schedules to join the event.”

The Sihope Foundation usually holds two or three concerts annually to raise funds to support ALS patients.

Sean has recently reclaimed his stardom after releasing a hip-hop single as a member of Jinusean in April, which was his first in more than 10 years. The singer has also recently topped various music charts for the song “Oppa’s Car,” in which rappers Tablo, Incredible and Jinusean collaborated in a rap battle showcased on Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 4.”
