Asiana Airlines said Wednesday that customers can now purchase tickets via KakaoPay, a mobile payment system operated by the nation’s most popular mobile messenger KakaoTalk. The company said it isn’t necessary to download a separate application to use the service for customers who use KakaoTalk, as the payment system can be accessed through the texting application.
To commemorate launching the service, customers who purchase tickets via KakaoPay will be offered 5 to 7 percent discounts on popular travel routes like Jeju Island, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Manila and Los Angeles.
“We tried to let customers purchase tickets more easily,” the company said in a statement. “We will keep trying to provide more convenient customer services.”
