CINCINNATI - Roger Federer remained perfect in the Cincinnati finals, winning an unprecedented seventh championship Sunday while denying Novak Djokovic the one title that always eludes him.
The Swiss star is 7-0 in Cincinnati finals. By contrast, the top-ranked Djokovic is 0-5 in Cincinnati championship matches, never winning so much as one set. Djokovic badly wanted to win Sunday and become the first player to take all of the nine current ATP Masters events.
He joked that he’ll have to wait until Federer retires to finally win it.
