Seven firms take first step to be listed on the Kosdaq

On Monday seven companies including camera lens manufacturer Samyang Optics have filed for review to be listed on the tech-heavy secondary market, according to Korea Exchange.

Samyang Optics last year had revenues of 51.5 billion won and reported an operating profit of 12.9 billion won.

Other companies that have taken the first step to go public on the Kosdaq include Mirae Technology, a software development company responsible for the private security system on bank cards dubbed the “one time password” or OTP.

The company last year reported revenues of 17.3 billion won with a net profit of 3.8 billion won.

Another company is Magic Micro, which manufactures semiconductor lead frames. The company last year had sales of 53.2 billion won and a net profit of 3.4 billion won.
