Telecoms will alert you when you exceed monthly limits
Starting next March, local telecom carriers will be required to send notifications to customers when they exceed the contracted limit of data, voice call minutes and text messages for the month.Currently, telecom consumers receive warnings when they use more data than what was allowed in their plans.
The revised act requires the warnings for voice calls and text messages as well.
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning said Monday that the revised Electric and Telecommunications Business Act also recommends all carriers launch a service that allows customers on international roaming plans to know of their usage and how much it is costing them on a real-time basis.
