Bangtan Boys’ dances popular abroad

Prior to the 2015 K-pop Festival that will be held in late October, the festival organizer, the Visit Korea Committee, analyzed all the video files submitted by K-pop fans across the globe and found that the choreography of K-pop boy group Bangtan Boys was covered the most.

The committee said on Wednesday that it received 1,300 video files of K-pop cover dances from 58 countries, and 102 of the 1,300 included dances by the Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS.

The K-pop Festival selects between 11 and 15 teams from abroad and invites them to Korea to present their cover dances.

The second-most covered K-pop group was girl group 4Minute. Exo, a 10-member boy group, came in third.

The Bangtan Boys debuted on the music scene in 2013, and the seven-member group has released hits like “Boys in Luv” and “I Need U.”

The committee added that it has received more cover dances of female K-pop groups this year than in the previous year.

The cover dance festival is held to promote K-pop and encourage K-pop fans around the world.
