GG’s Taeyeon promoting solo album

Taeyeon of the girl group Girls’ Generation will tease her first solo album prior to its official release.

SM Entertainment, the group’s agency, said on Monday that the 26-year-old singer will share some behind-the-scenes episodes from the production of her first solo album, titled “I,” through V App, a smartphone application that airs personal broadcasts by celebrities, on Tuesday at 11 p.m.

Taeyeon’s personal broadcast is titled “I-Contact,” and she will tease some songs, including the title track from “I.” Taeyeon reportedly wrote the lyrics for the title track, while famed rapper Verbal Jint also collaborated on the song.

The official release of Taeyeon’s album is slated for Wednesday, and CDs will be available on Thursday at major music stores.

Although the singer debuted in 2007 as a member of the K-pop group Girls’ Generation, this is her first solo album. However, she has been singing songs for the original soundtracks of various TV drama series on her own, and many have lauded her singing ability.

Taeyeon will begin promoting her first album on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on Thursday.
