Yang Hyun-suk, the head of YG Entertainment, which is home to musicians like Big Bang, Psy and 2NE1, was indicted earlier this month for illegally extending an office building of his entertainment company located in Hapjeong-dong, western Seoul.
Mapo Police Station publicized the news on Thursday.
According to authorities, the Mapo District reported Yang to the police in mid-August for installing a walkway connecting two buildings owned by YG Entertainment and adding two floors.
Yang reportedly told police that he didn’t know the details surrounding the building’s expansion because “it was decided by staff members who are responsible.”
Yang debuted as a member of the dance trio Seo Taiji and Boys in 1992 and went on to launch YG Entertainment, one of the nation’s top three entertainment companies, in 1998. He is one of the richest men in the industry.
