Super Junior’s Donghae begins military duty

Donghae, a member of the K-pop boy group Super Junior, enlisted in the Army on Thursday. He will serve as a military police officer for 21 months.
Unlike fellow member Eunhyuk, who exchanged greetings with fans the day he enlisted on Tuesday, Donghae reportedly wanted to begin his service without the press and fans.
Instead, Donghae wrote on his Instagram account on Wednesday, “Hi, ELF! Sorry to leave you for one year and nine months. It is meaningful for me to enlist in the Army on my birthday. I’ll see you guys later.”
ELF is an official Super Junior fan club.
Donghae also shared a photo of himself with short cropped hair.
Siwon, another Super Junior member, will join the Army on Nov. 19.
With five members of the 11-man act fulfilling their service, it will be impossible to see Super Junior all together for a while, but SM Entertainment, the group’s agency, said the rest will keep pursuing their individual careers.
