The Seoul-based Yulchon LLC held the first half of a two-day conference with TechLaw Group, a global network of technology law firms, on Thursday to strengthen its networks and gather opinions on the latest trends and regulations on fintech, data protection and patents.
Experts worldwide attended the conference, which ends today at the Textile Center in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, and included a program full of presentations on topics ranging from data protection to cyber security and U.S. patent litigation.
Attorney Hur Ben, from Yulchon’s Financial Institutions Group, discussed fintech, its prospects and regulations, and stressed the importance of creating a basic structure and system to foster the technology in the domestic market in line with global standards.
“Without deep knowledge and understanding of the industries related to fintech, data transferability and E-commerce, the advice delivered to companies seeking such legal services will be severely limited,” said Son Do-il, who leads Yulchon’s Telecommunications, Media and Technology Team.
