Ailee to perform today at the Korean Series

Singer Ailee will sing the national anthem for a baseball match today between the Doosan Bears and the Samsung Lions.

YMC Entertainment, which represents the 26-year-old singer, said on Monday that she will open the match that begins at 6:30 p.m. at Daegu Citizen Stadium.

The Korea Baseball Organization reportedly said it chose the Korean-American singer for her powerful vocals.

Although the singer recently fractured some of her toes while shooting a music video, she is promoting her new song, “Mind Your Own Business,” released late last month while wearing a cast on her right leg.

Having debuted in 2012, Ailee is one of a few successful solo singers who can sing and dance. She is often referred to as Korea’s answer to Beyonce.

Some of her hits include “Heaven,” “Don’t Touch Me” and “I’ll Show You.”
