Monster movie ‘Colossal’ to be shot in Seoul

American actress Anne Hathaway’s next project will be shot in Seoul.

According to Variety and other overseas news outlets on Tuesday, Hathaway’s new film, “Colossal,” was supposed to be shot in Tokyo. However, Toho Pictures, a Japanese production company that owns the copyright for “Godzilla,” a classic monster flick first released in 1954, sued Voltage Pictures, which is producing “Colossal,” and the company decided to change the main location to Seoul.

“Colossal” is a story about a woman who finds herself connected to a giant creature that destroys an entire city.

The “Colossal” production crew is currently shooting in Vancouver, Canada. The film is scheduled to open on March 17 in North America.

Along with Hathaway, actors Dan Stevens of the drama series “Downton Abbey” and Jason Sudeikis of “Horrible Bosses 2” (2014) are participating in the film.
