Seoul hosts convention of the road

The 25th World Congress Seoul 2015 kicks off today for a five-day run through Friday.

The event, which began in 1908 in Paris, is the largest convention for road-related industries and is held every four years.

This is the first time Korea is hosting the event in which more than 3,500 people from 75 countries will participate.

The congress will run on the theme of “Roads and Mobility ? Creating New Value from Transport.”

The South Korean government will host a session called “Roads in Korea” to demonstrate and share its experience in road-related technologies and how it will bring them into use globally.

This congress is the third to be hosted in Asia. As the host nation, Korea is expected to publicize how road and transportation systems have been developed in the country and improve its profile in related industries in the global market.
