Seventeen included on list of hot young acts

Newbie K-pop act Seventeen has been recognized on Billboard’s “21 Under 21” list, released on Saturday.

The U.S.-based music website publishes a list of 21 up-and-coming musical acts every year, and Seventeen was the only Korean boy group that made this year’s list.

The 13-member group consists of members from the United States, China and Korea, with three sub-units specializing in hip-hop, vocals and performance.

Seventeen debuted in May and has just two mini-albums under its belt, but its debut album, “17 Carat,” ranked ninth on Billboard’s World Albums Chart upon release.

And since the boy group appeared on the reality TV show “Seventeen Project” even before its debut, it already had a solid fan base both within and outside the country.

The average age of Seventeen members is 17 years old.
