YG Entertainment, the 38-year-old’s agency, uploaded a teaser image online on Tuesday, signaling the singer’s comeback.
Psy’s much-anticipated comeback has been delayed several times because the singer-rapper was reportedly under a lot of pressure after the worldwide success of “Gangnam Style.”
The musician was almost ready to release an album last December. He finished recording “Daddy,” the new album’s title track, but decided to start over from square one.
After making the decision to scrap “Daddy,” the singer shared his plan for a new album during a year-end concert last December.
“A good song is created over the course of making a good album, but I realized I was trying hard to make a single hit,” he said.
“I promise I will not try to hit the jackpot with a single song next year.”
Psy’s new album will come out two years and eight months after the release of “Gentleman” in 2013.
Having debuted in 2001, the singer has been much-loved for his catchy songs. Of all his hits, “Gangnam Style,” released in 2012, brought the singer global fame.
