g.o.d. planning to drop new single

The first-generation K-pop group g.o.d. will release a digital single prior to its year-end concerts.

According to multiple industry insiders on Sunday, the five-member boy group is currently shooting a music video.

An official from Sidus HQ, which represents g.o.d., confirmed the news to OSEN, a local online entertainment news agency, adding, “More specific information about the song’s genre and title will be unveiled later this week.”

The group will hold concerts from Dec. 16 to 20 in various cities including Seoul and Busan.

The K-pop band debuted in 1999 and set many records in the mid-2000s. But member Yoon Kye-sang left g.o.d. in 2004, saying that he would pursue acting.

After Yoon’s departure, g.o.d. released a seventh album in 2005 but it failed to impress music fans. The group stopped releasing albums after that.

But the group reunited last year, releasing a regular album of which many tracks topped numerous online music charts by evoking nostalgia in older music fans.
