More than 7,800 vehicles - including Kia Motors’ compact SUV Soul and imports such as Mercedes and Peugeot - are being recalled.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport 6,565 Soul models that were manufactured between Jan. 18 2014 and Sept. 30 2015 are being recalled. The government said a bolt on the steering pinion is not fastened tightly and it could affect a driver’s steering control.
As well, 121 Mercedes Benz manufactured between July 1, 2015, and Sept. 30, 2015, are being recalled. The six models being recalled are C200, CLA250 4MATIC, E200 CGI, SLK200. The company found a flaw that could lead to the engine turning off while the car is in motion due to problems in the camshaft and faulty welding.
Additionally, approximately 1,200 Peugeot and Citroen vehicles to be recalled. More than 1,000 units of Peugeot’s 3008, 308cc, 508, 508sw, and Expert tepee manufactured between Sept. 5, 2012, and Dec. 10, 2014, as well as 203 Citroen’s DS4 and DS5 produced between Sept. 14, 2012, and Dec. 8, 2014 are involved.
