Davis Cup goes ahead in Ghent despite terror threat
LONDON - The Davis Cup final is set to go ahead as planned in Ghent this weekend with increased security because of the ongoing terror alert in Belgium, the International Tennis Federation said on Monday.
After delaying the trip by a day, Britain’s team flew into Ghent on Monday ahead of the three-day final against Belgium on Friday.
Ghent is about 35 miles (56 kilometers) from Brussels, which is on the highest state of alert because of what the Belgian government calls a “serious and imminent” threat.
Among additional security measures being implemented is a ban on fans taking bags into the 13,000-seat Flanders Expo indoor clay court.

James joins Robertson in top 25 points and assists
CLEVELAND - LeBron James has joined Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history to rank in the Top 25 in points and assists.
With his fifth assist Monday against Orlando, James pulled into the elite company of the “Big O,” who finished with 26,710 points and 9,887 assists. James entered the game needing 21 points to pass Reggie Miller (25,279) for 18th on the career scoring list. Robertson is 11th.
James reached the milestone with 5:00 left in the second quarter. The Cavaliers’ star drove the lane, jumped and made a quick pass into the corner to Kevin Love, who knocked down a 3-pointer. AP
