Doosan inks contract to build a new coal-fired plant
Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction signed a contract to provide turbines and generators for the new coal-fired thermal plant in Seocheon County, South Chungcheong, along with the Korea Midland Power Corporation (Komipo) on Friday.The 1,000-megawatt power plant is scheduled to be completed by September 2019 in Seocheon County, South Chungcheong.
Doosan has already won a contract for a coal-fired thermal plant in Gangneung, Gangwon, in April and has been selected as the preferred partner for the construction of plants in South Gyeongsang and Samcheok, Gangwon.
Chung Ji-taik, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, and Park Hyung-koo, vice president of the power generation and safety division of Komipo, met at the Intercontinental Seoul COEX in Samseong-dong, southern Seoul, for the signing of the new contract.
