‘Reply’ hits new viewership high
Cable channel drama series “Reply 1988” earned a 13.9 percent viewership on Saturday, the highest ever in the show’s history.It was the also the highest among all cable channel shows aired during the same time slot.
The Friday-Saturday drama series set in 1988 is the third season of the “Reply” series, which began in 2012.
Since it is the third season, Shin Won-ho, a producer for the show, had said he “doesn’t expect to earn high viewership this time” during a press event held in early November.
However, the third season of the show is getting positive feedback from viewers, as the drama series centers on families and friends, unlike the previous two seasons which put much emphasis on romantic relationships.
The drama series is often dubbed a stepping stone to fame because many budding and obscure actors and actresses have gained popularity after appearing in the drama series.
