Yoo Jae-suk ranked top comedian in Korea

Comedian Yoo Jae-suk has been voted as the best comedian of the year.

Gallup Korea on Thursday released the results of a survey titled “Comedians Who Brightened Up This Year” and noted that Yoo has topped the list for four consecutive years.

The 43-year-old comedian received 51.3 percent of votes from survey participants.

He is currently hosting five TV shows, including Koreans’ all-time favorite TV show “Infinite Challenge,” as well as “Running Man,” “Happy Together” and “Two Yoo Project ? Finding Sugar Man.”

Gallup Korea conducts the survey every year, and Yoo topped the list from 2005 to 2009 and from 2012 onwards.

Comedian Lee Guk-joo, who has had a busy year, came in second in the poll, though she is not appearing in any TV shows at present.

Kang Ho-dong of “Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education,” Kim Jun-hyun of “Baek Jong-won’s Three Great Emperors” and Park Myung-soo of “Infinite Challenge” ranked third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

The survey was conducted across the nation except in Jeju between October and November on 1,700 people ages 13 and over.
