Samsung’s fashion brands hit Chinese online markets

Samsung C&T is entering the Chinese online market with six of its fashion brands.

According to the company, six brands of Samsung’s fashion department - 8Seconds, Beanpole Accessory, KUHO, Ravenova, Juun.J and Beaker - began selling through Tmall Global on Tuesday.

Tmall Global is a new online shopping platform for overseas direct purchases established earlier this year by Alibaba Group, the largest online shopping service provider on the mainland.

On Dec. 24 and 25, Alibaba and the Samsung brands will hold the first brand promotion day through Alibaba’s social commerce platform, “Juhuasuan,” during which 600 products will be sold.

In September, Samsung further showed its interest in Chinese online markets by signing a memorandum of understanding with Alibaba Group to strengthen cooperation in the e-commerce sector.
