‘The Good Wife’ remake on the wayLocal cable channel tvN has decided to remake the U.S. drama series “The Good Wife.”
According to the broadcaster, the remake will hit the air some time next year.
The Korean version of the legal drama series has not cast anyone yet, but local news outlets reported that award-winning actress Jeon Do-yeon is reviewing the script.
The drama series first premiered in 2009, and the seventh season is currently airing on CBS.
“The Good Wife” is about a woman who returns to her old job as a litigator after her attorney husband is sent to jail after being involved in sex and political corruption scandals.
The series has received acclaim from both critics and viewers. It also won two best actress awards from the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards for lead actress Julianna Margulies’ performance.
Director Lee Jeong-hyo of drama series “I Need Romance” (2014) and “Witch’s Romance” (2014) will take the helm of the remake project, while Han Sang-wun of the drama series “Spy” (2015) will pen the script.
