[Sports Top 10 News] 7. Swimmer Park Tae-hwan hit with doping scandal

테스트

In March, Olympic gold medalist Park Tae-hwan received an 18-month suspension from the international swimming governing body, FINA, for a doping violation.

FINA confirmed that Park, 26, tested positive for testosterone and will be suspended until March 2, 2016. The punishment also forced him to give up the six medals won at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

The suspension puts Park in jeopardy for competing in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Under Korean Olympic Committee rules, an athlete who has been suspended for a positive drug test can’t be named to a national team for three years from the day the suspension ends, which means Park is not eligible until March 2, 2019. But Park hasn’t given up and continues to train.
