Conglomerates give back to community via donations

As both the global and domestic economies continue to tighten, the nation’s conglomerates made big donations to the Community Chest of Korea on Wednesday.

Hanwha Group donated 3 billion won ($2.5 million), and LS Group gave 2 billion won.

Recently, the conglomerates have also participated in other, more unique forms of corporate social philanthropy.

Hanwha Group distributed braille calendars for the Korea Blind Union, and LS Group employees sold off unwanted goods to raise additional money for other causes.
