Korea’s largest carriers add flights ahead of Seollal

The nation’s two major airliners, Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, are adding more domestic flights from Feb. 5 to Feb. 10 to accommodate heavy traveling expected during the Korean New Year holiday, also known as Seollal, which falls this year on Feb. 8.

Booking for the extra flights begins at 2 p.m. today. Korean Air is offering an additional 22 flights with 3,682 seats flying on three domestic air routes: Gimpo-Jeju, Gimpo-Busan and Busan-Jeju. Asiana is adding 50 flights with 9,700 seats on three of its routes: Gimpo-Jeju, Incheon-Jeju and Gimpo-Gwangju.
