Lee Seung-gi to release single on enlistment
Singer-actor Lee Seung-gi will join the military on Feb.1.
Hook Entertainment, the 29-year-old celebrity’s agency, put out a press release Thursday that said, “Lee will enlist in the Army next month. And he will also release a digital single on the same day of his enlistment.”
The digital single is titled “I’m Joining the Military,” according to Hook.
The versatile entertainer said in a press release, “I’ve been preparing for this day. I’d like to say goodbye [to fans] in person but I can’t. So I tried to express my feelings through this song.
“This is a personal story of mine but I hope other people who will soon join the military, and their families and friends could relate to this song, too. I’ll come back as a real man.”
Lee began his professional singing career at the age of 17 back in 2004. Upon his debut, Lee soared to stardom with the song “Because You Are My Woman.”
The singer also has found success in dramas, films and variety shows.
