The South Korean Coast Guard on Wednesday tries to rescue at least four people believed to be trapped inside a Chinese fishing boat that foundered near Gageodo, a small southwestern island in South Jeolla. Four people were rescued by nearby Chinese fishing boats, and South Korean divers hours later saved another person onboard who was conscious and able to talk when found. However, another man pulled from the water earlier by South Korean divers was already dead. The fishing boat was not approved by South Korean authorities to fish in the country’s waters. [NEWSIS]
