Suk gets debut goal with
FC Porto in 59th minute
Suk Hyun-jun scored his first goal for FC Porto on Thursday in a match against Gil Vicente in the first round of semi-final of the Portuguese Cup. Starting the game as an attacker, 24-year-old Suk shook the net with a diving header 59 minutes into the match when the FC Porto defender Miguel Layun crossed the ball from the left.
Suk kicked off the 2015/16 season at Vitoria de Setubal of the Portuguese Cup and transferred to FC Porto on Jan. 15 this year. Already marking 11 goals in 20 matches at Vitoria, his record at the Portuguese Cup now stands at 12 goals in 25 matches.
Suk was substituted 16 minutes after scoring his goal because of pain in his right ankle. How the pain will impact his appearance in the next match is still unknown. Suk’s goal helped FC Porto defeat Vicente 3:0.
Jang ‘just keeps going’ with another stunning display
Keeping up the momentum from her historic albatross in the Pure Silk Bahamas Open last week, Jang Ha-na put in yet another stunning performance on Thursday, leading the first round of the LPGA Coates Golf Championship in Ocala, Florida. Jang moved one step closer to the LPGA title as she finished the first round at 7-under 65, taking a 3 shot lead ahead of six players tied for second. While carding 7 birdies, Jang played the round free of bogey.
“Oh, it’s perfect, no bogeys. I like it,” said Jang in an interview after the first round. “I don’t want to think about the wind and I don’t play for a score. I don’t see the scoreboards.”
Meanwhile, Chun In-gee made a successful LPGA debut despite struggling with the flu, marking a bogey-free, 4-under 68. Chun joined the group of players tied for second place along with Kim Sei-young.
