Braille smartwatch

테스트

SK Telecom plans to unveil the world’s first Braille smartwatch, developed by Korean start-up DOT, at the Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona, Spain, next week.

The smartwatch converts normal text into braille via 30 built-in pins in the watch. While there were concerns of private information exposure with existing text-to-sound devices for the blind, the watch keeps the information with the user wearing the device. DOT is one of the start-ups that received various support, including consulting and marketing as well as office space from SK Telecom under the “Bravo! Restart” program.

A total of four of the nurtured start-ups, including DOT, will showcase their products through SK Telecom’s booth at the congress. [SK TELECOM]
