A year and a half after the release of his mini-album “Ace,” Tae-min has dropped his first full-length solo album. As the youngest member of the K-pop boy group Shinee, Tae-min is showing off a manlier, more love-obsessed side.

The album includes 10 tracks across different genres that reflect different aspects of the singer.

The main focus of the album is love, particularly the attempt to get someone to love you back. Tae-min subverts this well-trodden concept by experimenting with different rhythms and sounds. In the title track “Press Your Number,” conventional lyrics are livened up by a mysterious slow-tempo, electro-dance rhythm produced in part by Bruno Mars.

“Drip Drop” focuses on the same themes but takes on a more dreamlike approach by utilizing the sound of dripping water.

“Already,” written by fellow Shinee member Jong-hyun, shows how much Tae-min’s singing has improved. But the song is less moving in its exploration of the pain of parting than other tracks on the album.
