Joint legal conference to focus on arbitration

The London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) in cooperation with the Korean law firm Kim & Chang will host a seminar next week over arbitration issues in the shipbuilding and infrastructure sectors.

The convention will run from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Monday at the law firm’s office in Jongno District, central Seoul. Registration is currently available and free of charge.

Subjects include LCIA arbitration rules and procedures; shipbuilding disputes; infrastructure disputes and related procedures.

Key speakers are LCIA Director General Jacomijn van Haersolte-van Hof; Park Eun-young, an attorney with Kim & Chang and the co-chair of the International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Group; and Shin Hi-taek, chairman of the Seoul International Dispute Resolution Center.

The seminar will allow guests a more in-depth look at the work process of the LCIA, according to the press release. In the statement, Park said he looked forward to speaking to various leaders and discussing the latest in arbitration trends.

With Seoul as the host city, the seminar will especially pave the way for domestic companies to broaden their perspective on arbitration issues, Park added.
