Kim 0-for-3 in Orioles first exhibition game in Atlanta

Baltimore Orioles slugger Kim Hyun-soo went 0-for-3 at the plate while batting fifth and starting in left field in the Orioles’ first exhibition game against Atlanta Braves yesterday.

Kim stepped on the field in the first inning with two outs and two players on base against starting pitcher Williams Perez of the Braves. Kim flied out to left field in his first at-bat. In his second and third at-bat, Kim grounded out to first and flied out to center field.

Kim was substituted out of the game in the sixth inning. Defensive-wise, Kim handled his post without any problem.?

Stars beat Vixtorm to break four-game losing streak

Gumi KB Insurance Stars defeated Suwon KEPCO Vixtorm with a tight set score of 3 to 2 on Tuesday to break its four-game losing streak.

At an away game against Vixtorm at Suwon Gymnasium, Suwon, the Stars clinched a comeback after allowing Vixtorm to take the lead after the third set.

The Stars grabbed the first set with the score of 25 to 14, but they struggled in the second and third set and conceded both sets to Vixtorm with the score of 18 to 25 and 22 to 25, respectively. However, the Stars came back in the fourth and fifth set to grab both sets with the score of 25 to 19 and 15 to 12.

The Stars’ Nemec Martin scored the match high 29 points and Son Hyeon-jong added 15 points to the board.

Jiangsu at top of their Asian Champions League group

SEOUL, South Korea - Alex Teixeira scored and Ramires was sent off for Jiangsu Suning as the big-spending Chinese club beat Jeonbuk Motors 3-2 in the Asian Champions League on Tuesday.

Teixeira scored in the first half with a low shot from outside the area.

Second-half strikes from Jo and Xu Li restored the host’s advantage after Lee Dong-gook brought Jeonbuk level. Jiangsu also scored an own-goal late in the match. Ramires was sent off for a push in injury time.

Jiangsu moved to the top of Group E with four points from two games. FC Tokyo is level on points with Jeonbuk after beating Binh Duong 3-1. AP
