Hyundai Heavy makes 10,000 HiMSEN engines

Hyundai Heavy Industries, the world’s largest shipbuilder, announced Thursday it had manufactured more than 10,000 units of its own engine called HiMSEN (Hi Touch Marine & Stationary Engine). The company developed the four-stroke engine after researching for more than 10 years. They started production in 2001.

The engine is now being exported to about 40 countries around the world and it accounts for 22 percent of the total market share of medium-speed marine engines.
