Korean acts to play at global fests
Leading K-pop artists take the stage this year at three of most renowned music festivals: South by Southwest in the United States, The Great Escape in the United Kingdom and Midem in France.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced 12 artists who will represent Korea at these events.
ZionT and Mamamoo will perform at “K-pop Night Out at South by Southwest held in Austin, Texas, on March 16.
Award-winning indie band Bye Bye Badman, electro-rock duo Love X Stereo, heavy metal rock band Victim Mentality, and producer Haihm will also perform that night.
Representing Korea at The Great Escape in Brighton, England, from May 19 to 21 will be retro girl group The Barberettes, and rock band Danpyunsun and the Sailors.
The indie bands Guckkasten, Eluphant and Ego Function Error as well as electro trio Idiotape will play at Midem, which is being held in Cannes, France, from June 3 to 6.
The Korea Creative Content Agency promised full support for the musicians.
