Go master Lee Se-dol victorious in fourth game against machine

Korean Go master Lee Se-dol on Sunday beat Google DeepMind’s computer algorithm AlphaGo 3-1 in the fourth round of a five-game series.
The 33-year-old lost the previous three games to AlphaGo, making the AI program the ultimate winner of the latest symbolic tournament between man and machine. A 9-dan professional, Lee appeared determined to redeem himself.
The self-evolving artificial intelligence program sent a pop-up message on its computer screen that read, “AlphaGo resigns” at 5:44 p.m., the last minute in the match held at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul in Gwanghwamun, central Seoul.
The final game of the Google DeepMind Challenge Match will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the hotel.
