Visitors will not be able to see National Treasure No. 101, “Stupa of State Preceptor Jigwang from Beopcheonsa Temple Site, Wonju,” located in Gyeongbok Palace in central Seoul for a while from today as it will be undergoing restoration, according to the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA). This funerary stupa honoring eminent Goryeo-era monk Jigwang (984-1067) is known for its sophisticated and exotic style. It will be moved to CHA’s National Research Institute in Daejeon to be restored until 2019. [CULTURAL HERITAGE ADMINISTRATION]
