‘Descendants’ stars to head to Hong Kong

The much-loved on-screen duo from the hot drama “Descendants of the Sun,” Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, will fly to Hong Kong to promote the drama next month.

According to Song Joong-ki’s agency, Blossom Entertainment, the drama will start airing there on April 6 on the newly launched broadcaster Viu TV, and the stars are set to participate in promotional events.

The exact date of the actors’ first-ever overseas promotion for the drama is yet to be decided. Reportedly, the next country for overseas promotion has not been decided.

The KBS drama’s popularity extends beyond Korea, and distribution rights have reportedly been sold for about $100,000 per episode in Japan. The deal is being seen by many as a sign of revitalization of the Korean Wave.
