SHOOTINGJin Jong-oh secures shot at upcoming Summer Games
South Korean shooter Jin Jong-oh will compete in men’s 10-meter air pistol event in the upcoming Summer Olympics.
Jin participated in the Olympics selection match that took place in Naju Jeollanamdo Shooting Range, Naju, South Jeolla, from March 13 to 19 and aggregated 2930 points total in men’s 10-meter air pistol event to place first. Lee Dae-myung shot 2929 to place second in the selection match and join Jin in Rio.
Jin, who has three Olympics gold medals on his shelf from 50-meter pistol from 2008 Beijing Olympics and 10-meter air pistol and 50-meter pistol in 2012 London Olympics, participated in the selection match despite his world ranking. Jin is currently ranked first in Men’s 10-meter air pistol according to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). Kim Cheong-yong of South Korea is ranked third after Jin.
In the women’s event, Kwak Jung-hye and Kim Min-jung accumulated 1923 and 1922 points each to secure their spots in the national team for the Olympics.

Rush & Cash records 2nd win over Skywalkers in the finals
Ansan OK Savings Bank Rush & Cash claimed its second win over Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers yesterday in the V-League finals with the set score of 3-0.
Rush & Cash’s strategy was to break down the Skywalkers’ defense by channeling attacks to Oreol Camejo. Serves by Rush & Cash players targeted Camejo, who was unable to handle them all. Setter Noh Jae-wook also stumbled and made mistakes tossing the ball. Rush & Cash did not miss the opportunity whenever it saw the Skywalkers struggling.
The teams’ performances at the end of the match was significantly mismatched. While Rush & Cash hit a 55.84 percent success rate in offense, that of the Skywalkers remained below 50 percent at 45.71 percent. Rush & Cash also edged the Skywalkers in blocks and service points by 7-4 and 5-2.
Rush & Cash middle blocker Robertlandy Simon Aties led the team by scoring 23 points. Outside hitter Song Myung-geun added 13 points to the board for the team.
The V-League finals is played as a best of five series. With two games under its belt already, Rush & Cash has a decent chance at grabbing a second consecutive championship title.
