All SKT shops will now stock new Smart Home appliances

SK Telecom, the nation’s No.1 mobile carrier, said on Sunday it will start selling home appliances linked to the company’s Smart Home services at all SKT shops across the nation from April.

Under partnerships with home appliance makers, the mobile carrier will sell a total of 13 products including air cleaners, dehumidifiers, kimchi refrigerators, boilers, air conditioners and door locks at shops where customers usually visit to subscribe to new mobile phones.

From Tuesday, it will introduce Smart Home-linked light switches, energy-saving plugs and sensors that detect when the doors are open. SKT’s Smart Home services enable users to remotely manage their home appliances via a smartphone application.

It will also launch a new three-year billing plan named “Smart Home Unlimited” that can link an unlimited number of home appliances to the Smart Home services for 9,000 won per month.
