The ruling party’s chairman openly confronted a nomination committee on Thursday and challenged the integrity of its selection of candidates for five districts - all of them loyalists of President Park Geun-hye.

여당 대표가 목요일 공개적으로 친박 후보 공천 5개 선거구에 대해 문제를 제기해 공천위의 결정을 정면으로 거부했다.
In a surprise press conference, Chairman Kim Moo-sung of the Saenuri Party claimed the nomination process for the April 13 general election was an embarrassment and unfair, forcing many devoted members to abandon the party. He then made the bombshell declaration that he was rejecting five candidates, effectively preventing the party from contesting those constituencies.

김무성 새누리당 대표는 긴급 기자회견을 열어 4.13 총선 공천과정이 당혹스럽고 불공정해서 많은 헌신적인 당원들이 당을 떠났다고 주장했다. 김 대표는 5개 선거구의 후보 공천 결정을 의결하지 않겠다고 폭탄선언을 했다. 사실상 그 5개 선거구에서는 당 공천후보를 등록하지 못하게 하는 결정이다.
Since the ruling party started the process of selecting candidates in February, a deep fissue between Park loyalists and the rest of the party appeared. The nomination committee is chaired by a confidante of the president, Rep. Lee Han-koo. Skepticism of him and his committee’s choices snowballed as Park loyalists were given party tickets, while her adversaries were frozen out.

여당이 후보 공천과정을 2월에 시작한 이후 친박계와 비박계 사이 깊은 분열이 드러났다. 박근혜 대통령의 측근인 이한구 의원이 공천위원회 위원장이다. 친박 후보들이 공천을 받고 비박 후보들이 대거 탈락하자 이한구 공천위원장과 공천위원회의 결정에 대한 회의론이 눈덩이처럼 불어났다.
Over the past few days, many denied candidates abandoned the ruling party to run independently in next month’s election. Kim said he was heartbroken to see such a reaction to the committee’s unfair selections and “ collusion.”

지난 몇 일 동안 많은 낙천 후보들이 다음달 총선에 무소속으로 출마하려고 탈당했다. 김 대표는 공천위의 불공정한 결정과 “공모”에 반발한 그러한 반응을 보면서 비통했다고 말했다.
Kim said he thought the best way to seek forgiveness from the public for such ugly political wrangling was rejecting nominations in five districts - Eunpyeong B and Songpa B in Seoul and Dong A and B and Dalseong in Daegu.

김 대표는 그러한 추잡한 정쟁에 대해 국민의 용서를 구하는 최선의 방안이 5개 선거구 공천 후보 의결을 거부하는 것이라고 생각했다고 말했다. 5개 선거구는 서울의 은평을과 송파을, 대구의 동갑, 동을과 달성이다.
They are still awaiting Supreme Council approval. Kim said he will not endorse them. Without the chairman’s endorsement, the candidates for the five districts cannot register their bids with the National Election Commission.

그 공천 후보 5명은 아직 최고위 의결을 기다리고 있다. 김 대표는 그들을 의결하지 않겠다고 말했다. 당대표의 직인 없이는 5개 선거구 공천 후보들은 선거관리위원회에 후보 등록을 할 수 없다
