Actor Lee Joon-gi plans fan meet in Seoul

Korean Wave star Lee Joon-gi is planning a fan meet.

Lee’s management agency, Namoo Actors, said Wednesday that all 1,200 seats were sold out within 3 minutes.

“2016 Joongi’s Day,” to be held April 23, is meant to celebrate his birthday, which is April 17. The event will be held at Blue Square Samsung Card Hall in Yongsan District, central Seoul.

The agency said the fan meet will be conducted in a talk show format and involve fans sharing their anecdotes and Lee counseling his fans.

The actor debuted in 2001 as a model. His acting career took off with the movie “King and the Clown (2005).” The star is highly popular in China, Japan and Southeast Asia.

The actor is expected to return to TV in a historical drama that will start airing in the second half of this year.
