Samsung wins Cannes Lion

The Cannes Lions announced on Thursday that the 2016 Creative Marketer of the Year award will be given to Samsung Electronics. Samsung said in a press release that this is the first time for the local company to receive the award. The company added that the award committee thought highly of Samsung’s marketing campaign, which focused on making the world a better place through its products.

“We were able to receive the award because of the great cooperation we had with globally active advertising firms,” said Samsung. Terry Savage, Cannes Lions chairman, said Samsung Electronics’ advertisements showed that its digital technology can maximize potential for its users. Heineken won last year, and global companies such as Coca-Cola and Nike have received the award in the past.
