Lotte Group on Monday held an opening ceremony for Understand Avenue, a cultural space, made of donations from Lotte’s duty-free business. Located in Seongdong District, Seoul, the space is made out of about 100 used shipping containers that will accommodate small shops run by lower-income families and artists. According to the retail conglomerate, Understand Avenue is part of its social contribution projects that are targeted at helping those with lower incomes become financially self-reliant. [NEWSIS]
