Twins’ Park records a single in loss to Washington Nationals
For the first time this season, Minnesota Twins’ slugger Park Byung-ho wasn’t a designated hitter in the lineup during an away game against the Washington Nationals on Monday.
Going up fourth, Park went 1-for-4 with one strikeout.
Park had remained on the bench earlier in the week during the inter-league away games against Milwaukee Brewers and the Nationals, who are in the National League Central and National League East, where there is no designated hitter rule. But on Monday, the last day of the inter-league away games, Park replaced Joe Mauer and went to the plate fourth in the order. The Twins played seven extra innings but ultimately lost 5-6.
