“사진 왼편을 보면 특이한 모양의 의자에 앉아서 벽화를 감상하는 사람의 모습이 보입니다. 동양에선 전통적으로 풍경화를 실내에서 감상 할 때 몸을 뒤로 기대고 했다고 합니다. 제목은
한 단계씩 따라하다 보면 문장이 저절로 외워지고 영어 구조에 대한 감각이 자연스럽게 생겨난답니다.
A 150-meter-long (492-foot-long) ink painting (in traditional East Asian style) (by Korean artist Moon Bong-sun) has been installed (along the curved wall) (of Dongdaemun Design Plaza) (designed) (by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid), {who (recently) passed (away)}.
“한국인 미술가 문봉선씨가 그린 동양 전통 양식의 폭 150미터 수묵화가 최근에 세상을 떠난 이라크 계 영국인 건축가 자하 하디드가 디자인 한 동대문 디자인 플라자의 곡면 벽에 설치돼 있다.”
The painting, (titled) (“Gangsanyeohwa” or “Picturesque Scenery,”) depicts Baektudaegan, or the range (of mountains) (from Mount Baektu) (to Mount Jiri) (on the Korean Peninsula).
“ <강산여화> 또는 <그림 같은 경치> 로 제목이 붙은 이 그림은 백두산에서 지리산까지 이어지는 한반도의 산맥인 백두대간을 묘사하고 있다.”
Visitors can view the painting {while reclining (on the special chairs) (designed) (by Jihoon Ha), {to follow the tradition (of wayu) (in Korean) or (woyou) (in Chinese), {which means [“traveling (in nature) {while lying (down) (in a room)]}}.”
“방문객들은 ‘방에 누워 자연 속에서 여행하는 것’을 뜻하는 ‘와유’(중국어로 워유)의 전통을 따라 하지훈이 디자인 한 특수 의자에 기대어 그림을 감상 할 수 있다.”
It is the traditional way (of [viewing East Asian landscape paintings]).
“이것은 동양의 풍경화를 감상하는 전통적인 방법이다.”
The exhibition, (titled) (“Baektudaegan: Wayu,”) continues (through May 29).
