SG Securities joins Hana Financial on ISA products

Hana Financial Investment, a brokerage arm of Hana Financial Group, joined hands with SG Securities Korea, a local operation of French bank Societe Generale, to jointly develop asset management and corporate investment banking products.

The two parties will focus on developing products suitable for individual savings account (ISA) products offered at Hana, according to the brokerage house on Wednesday.

Under the new ISA, which launched in March, small-asset owners can allocate their assets in a variety of financial products by opening just one bank or securities account, ranging from deposit and savings to stock, derivatives investments and funds.

The collaboration is aimed at developing products with a better return in an era of low growth and a near-bottom base rate.

Yann Garnier, head of global markets in Asia-Pacific at Societe Generale, said at the signing event on Wednesday that “Korea is one of the key markets for Societe Generale in the Asia-Pacific region, and we’re delighted to partner with Hana Financial Investment to offer a broader range of products to Korean investors.”
